As a Field Engineer III – MWD, you will be responsible for operating advanced measurement equipment during drilling services and leading field personnel in both onshore and offshore operations. Your experience and technical knowledge will be critical to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and supervision to junior personnel in daily wellsite activities
- Deliver specialized technical advice to external clients and colleagues at the wellsite
- Solve complex problems requiring data analysis and in-depth knowledge of tools and services
- Lead projects and act as a mentor/evaluator for junior personnel
- Maintain professional communication with internal teams and external clients
- Make critical real-time decisions during surveys and sensor monitoring
- Operate surface measurement software in the field
- Be responsible for rig-up, rig-down, operation, and configuration of MWD tools
- Ensure the quality of field reports and data delivered to clients
- Participate in root cause analysis of incidents
- Act as a backup for the Operations Supervisor / RTOC when required
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- Proven experience:
- Internal candidates: More than 5 years as Field Engineer III in MWD/LWD
- External candidates: More than 6 years of prior experience in MWD/LWD with a similar service company
- Demonstrated competencies in MWD, LWD, working with IES in log interpretation, LWD quality assurance, and geosteering
- Proficiency in Spectrum, QV, MyAdvisor, and WPTS software
- Knowledge of WFRD COL databases, various tools, and Colombian fields
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude with a high level of self-discipline and motivation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Intermediate level of English
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge of Drilling Services Systems products and services
- Specific experience with Weatherford LWD tools
- Advanced level of English
