Job Overview
The LWD Field Specialist II is responsible for operating and maintaining Logging While Drilling (LWD) and Measurement While Drilling (MWD) equipment at the rig site. The role involves data acquisition, quality control, log generation, and supporting service delivery to ensure client requirements are met safely and efficiently. All tasks are performed in accordance with Company policies, technical procedures, engineering standards, and best practices. This is a field-based position requiring work at onshore and offshore drilling locations.
Responsibilities
- Understand and comply with all Weatherford safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Know and adhere to Weatherford’s Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Management System, Operating Procedures, Technical Procedures, and Work Instructions.
- Execute work assignments with a high level of service quality and professionalism.
- Participate in daily operations meetings, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), reporting hazards and issues through the appropriate channels.
- Operate and maintain MWD/LWD surface systems and downhole tools at the rig site.
- Monitor, acquire, and validate downhole data to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Assist in interpreting downhole measurements and communicate operational information to directional drillers, company representatives, and geologists.
- Generate daily client deliverables including logs, LAS files, and operational reports.
- Perform quality checks on data and reports before submission to clients.
- Maintain proactive communication with rig personnel and client representatives to support successful operations.
- Support rig-up and rig-down activities of surface equipment and ensure equipment is maintained in good working condition.
- Maintain unit inventory and ensure all required equipment is available and serviceable.
- Assist in the training and development of junior field personnel when required.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate technical concerns appropriately.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Be available for domestic and international travel and work in both onshore and offshore environments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in MWD/LWD field operations.
- Completion of all Field Specialist I training and competency requirements.
- Basic understanding of drilling and rig operations.
- Experience with Rotary Steerable Tools (RST) is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
